Using the Mapping Tool with Budgets PRO
How to update Budgets PRO after enabling the Account Mapping Tool
Budgets PRO created after enabling the Account Mapping Tool will reflect the mapped custom chart of accounts structure.
Budgets PRO created before the mapping tool was enabled will need to be updated.
Updating Existing Budgets PRO
Why Warning Icons Appear
Any account that has changed from the original COA setup will show a Warning Icon. This can happen if you:
- Created Budgets PRO before the mapping tool was enabled
- Make changes to the COA structure within the mapping tool
How to Fix Budgets PRO
You have two options:
Option 1: Reset Statement
- Use the "Reset Statement" option to start fresh, but still keep prefill and driver data
-
- Note: This will remove any custom formulas or comments you've created
Option 2: Manual Update
- First Delete all accounts that have been mapped differently from the original COA structure (those with warning icons)
- Then Re-add the accounts by clicking the warning icon at the top of your budget statement to open the "Add Missing Accounts" modal and make updates based on the new COA:
- Add new custom groups and blank rows
- Add accounts with new nesting
Inactive Accounts in Budgets PRO
When "Hide Inactive Accounts" is ENABLED
- "Don't include inactive accounts" box checked → Inactive accounts will not show in budgets unless they have values needed to keep the Balance sheet in balance
- "Don't include inactive accounts" box unchecked → Inactive accounts will show in budgets with "unmapped" warning icons unless they have been removed within the Mapping tool
When "Hide Inactive Accounts" is DISABLED
- "Don't include inactive accounts" box checked → Inactive accounts will not show in budgets, but will appear in the Missing Accounts Modal with a warning
- "Don't include inactive accounts" box unchecked → Inactive accounts will show in budgets without "unmapped" warning icons
Tip: Remove all inactive accounts within the Mapping tool to hide them in budgets. Regardless of the Company Settings, your customized COA mapping will not change until changes are made in the Mapping Tool.
