How to Publish Dashboards
How to share your dashboard and its interactive features with your audience
Overview
Publishing dashboards in Reach Reporting allows you to share financial insights and metrics with clients, team members, or stakeholders. Published dashboards can be shared through the Client Portal or via shareable links, providing secure access to real-time financial data. You can control which interactive features are available to viewers through client settings, including month selection, data export, filtering capabilities, and AI-enhanced analysis.
Published dashboards automatically update when you make changes to the original dashboard, ensuring viewers always have access to the most current information. The dashboards are built to be mobile-responsive and can be viewed in various formats, including embedded views with customizable themes.
How to Publish a Dashboard
There are two ways to publish a dashboard in Reach Reporting:
Method 1: Publishing from the Dashboard List View
- Navigate to the Dashboard section from the main menu
- Locate the dashboard you wish to publish
- Click the gear icon on the dashboard tile
- Select either "Include in Client Portal" or "Publish" from the dropdown menu

5. If you select "Publish", a dialog will appear asking if you wish to create a shareable link. Click “Create Shareable Link” to provide the link address to your audience.

Method 2: Publishing from Inside the Dashboard Editor
- Open the dashboard you wish to publish in the dashboard editor
- Click the gear icon or settings menu within the editor
- Select "Include in Client Portal" or "Publish"
- Follow the same process as Method 1 to create shareable links if needed

Creating and Managing Shareable Links
When you choose to create a shareable link after publishing, you'll have several options:
Preview: View how the dashboard will appear to others before sharing
Copy Link: Generate and copy a direct URL to share with specific individuals or groups
Embed: Create an embedded link for integrating the dashboard into websites or other platforms
When using the Embed option, you can select the theme that the shared dashboard will display in, allowing you to match your branding or the recipient's preferences.

Configuring Client Settings for Published Dashboards
When publishing dashboards to the Client Portal, you can control which interactive features are available to clients by configuring the following client settings options:

For more information on the interactive features that can be shared with the client, check out our Knowledge Center article on Reach Reporting Dashboard Overview.
Key Features of Published Dashboards
Published dashboards in Reach Reporting are designed with shareability and usability in mind:
Automatic Updates: Published dashboards automatically reflect any changes you make to the original dashboard, ensuring viewers always have access to current data
Mobile Responsive: Dashboards scale automatically for mobile devices, allowing clients to view their financial data on smartphones and tablets
Non-Editable View: When others view your published dashboard through a shareable link or the Client Portal, they see a non-editable format that preserves the integrity of your original design
Secure Sharing: Control who has access to your dashboards through the Client Portal or by managing who receives shareable links
How to Unpublish a Dashboard
If you need to remove a dashboard from public view:
- Navigate to the Dashboard section or open the Dashboard
- Click the gear icon on the published dashboard
- Select "Manage/Unpublish" from the dropdown menu
- Confirm by clicking the "Unpublish" button in the confirmation dialog

Unpublishing a dashboard immediately removes access for all viewers, whether they were accessing it through the Client Portal or via shareable links.
Use Cases and Best Practices
Use Cases
Client Portal Access: Publish monthly financial dashboards to the Client Portal with limited client settings to provide clients with consistent, curated views of their key metrics
Executive Reporting: Create shareable links with full interactive features enabled for executives who need to drill down into departmental or location-specific data
Board Presentations: Generate embedded dashboard links with custom themes for board meetings, allowing board members to access live data during presentations
Stakeholder Updates: Share dashboards with investors or stakeholders using shareable links, controlling which filters and export options are available
Best Practices
Consider Your Audience: Enable client settings based on the technical sophistication and needs of your viewers. Not all clients require full filtering and export capabilities
Design for Print: If dashboards will be frequently printed to PDF, keep them concise and avoid excessive scrolling sections
Test Before Sharing: Use the preview function to verify how the dashboard appears to viewers before distributing shareable links
Review Access Regularly: Periodically review which dashboards are published and unpublish those that are no longer needed
Theme Consistency: When creating embedded links, select themes that align with your branding or the recipient's preferences for a professional appearance
Mobile Optimization: Preview dashboards on mobile devices to ensure key metrics are easily visible on smaller screens
