# Designing Reports with Cursor: the Reach Connector

### What the Reach Connector Does

The Reach connector lets you **read and build Reach reports by chatting with Cursor**, scoped to any company you already have permission to view in Reach.

### Where It Works

The connector is added to Cursor on your own machine, either for **one project** or for **every project**. Cursor shows Reach's answers as **tables and links in the chat** rather than interactive panels.

### Before You Start

- A **Reach Reporting account** with at least one **AI-enabled company or workspace**.
- **Cursor** installed and signed in.

*Already set Reach up by hand? Remove your existing entry first. Cursor keys connectors by name, so you would end up with two.*

### Step 1: Add the Connector

**The quick way.** Use the Add to Cursor button, then accept Cursor's confirmation prompt. **Nothing runs on your computer.** The link carries a web address and a sign-in setting, and no command.

**The manual way.** Add Reach to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (every project) or `.cursor/mcp.json` (one project).

### Step 2: Sign In to Reach

You only do this once. Cursor remembers the connection, including after a restart.

### Step 3: Set Up for the Best Experience

If Cursor offers a way to **approve the Reach tools automatically** for a session, turning it on makes the flow run without stopping. **Publishing always waits for your explicit okay.**

### Step 4: Ask Your First Question

Start with *"What companies can I work with in Reach Reporting?"* Cursor replies with a table of the companies on your account.

When you ask for a report, Cursor confirms what it is about to build, then gives you a **link to open the result in Reach**.
